Music, Christmas and Revieuws
As you can see i am expanding my exploring outside SL as well.
I think you have to blame Zak Claxton for this,
during his shows he keeps on saying that you can find him on facebook,
so i looked for it and thought it would be cool to be on that thingy as well.
After all we are slowly trying to take over this world,
can’t say too mutch about it yet, we don’t want to scare you and freak you out.
But it will be cool, i can promise you this.
I was preparing for a meeting with Djai,
he volunteered to be intervieuwed by me about music that i post on this Blog
and i did some research on him, browsed the web for songs, lyrics etc.etc.
When i found this revieuw
I wrote about this revieuwer before when he said things abour Fyrm,
and i couldn’t resist to reply to Djai’s one on that website.
I don’t want to get into some online fight with people,
and basically i don’t care what he writes, i read it and smile about sutch ignorance
But my vieuw is to treat people with the respect they deserve,
you have to understand a scene before you can revieuw it properly.
SL music scene is very different then RL music scene.
Therefore you need to revieuw it differently
The Artists are different, the technique is different, the audience is different,
the way of experiencing music is different, the way the scene works is,
it all is different.
I am not stupid, i see that this guy knows about music,
but it is RL music that he is good at.
And as we allready stated, SL is different.
One of the things are the covers, he doesnt like them or at least feels that
artists should play orginals more.
I agree with him on some points, i love to hear orginals.
But this is SL, orginal songs take time to settle in.
In RL it is done by the media, you hear them on the radio, tv on websites etc.etc.
So you get used to them, they settle in your mind and you start to like them,
it’s the way the bizz works, this is why shows sutch as IDOLS are working
for the industry, when the show is over people are fan, for whatever what reason,
it doesnt matter if they are good singers or not.
SL is a fast metaverse, most of us are running around like maniacs.
Offcourse this is a general vieuw and it doesnt go for everyone.
But we pop in at a show and have to decide if we stay or not in a split second.
I think it is today’s mentality, we want it fast and we want it now and we dont
have time and we need to do others things as well.
In general an empty venue with a brilliant orginal musician looses it
from a busy one with a brilliant cover artist.
That’s why i support SL live Radio,
people put that stream in at their clubs or listen to it outside SL
and get to know the artists, some have cover tunes on it but that’s ok too
The important thing is that People listen and get to know the artists.
And get interested in SL music and hopefully they spread the word around.
It doesnt might look so but the SLMC is a pretty new thing and is still in
development, SL itself is heading to it’s sixth year now, so even that is fairly new
All music lovers should do their best to try to make it bigger and promote it.
I sort off revieuw music,
i revieuw music that i like cause i don’t want to talk bad about the ones i don’t like,
YOU make up your own mind about them, the great thing about it is that their
is room for everyone on SL, a crapy singer that has 15 people deserves to be there
I wonder if he supports the SLMC as he should be doing.
If i am at a gig and there are not too mutch people, i spam the groups that i am in
throw out a group IM with the slurl and hope people take the time to hop over.
Most times it works, after that it is up to the musician to capture their heart.
When i see there are not many tips coming in, i make a smart remark that i
can’t find the tipjar, that normally works as well ~laughs~
Don’t get me wrong, i am not trying to get attention with all of this,
i don’t do this to get noticed or to be mentioned on air.
Most times Artists don’t even notice this, witch is good.
I just love music and feels that everyone should hear it and start hopping gigs
I don’t care who it is, i might not like what i hear but their might be people
outthere who would love it.
But enough about this, time for more important things.
