Fyrm, Shannon, Al, Djai and Zak

And yet another crazy night on SL.

I logged on after a lazy sunday doing absolutly nothing at all,
don’t you just love does day’s ?
Waking up and knowing there will be no phones ringing, no work to do,
offcourse you can allways find something, but you dont have to
knowing you can do whatever you want at any time ?

I love it !!!

/me drags himself on topic again

Ok, so i logged on, checked the messages and notices and stuff
and hopped to Cascadia to see Fyrm ( offcourse )
I think i should change this in a Fyrm Blog ~laughing~

I notice he starts to do more improvisations on his keyboard,
witch is good, musicians need to develop and explore their talent,
grow in their music and let the creativity flow.
It’s a fabulous thing to see that Fyrm has the guts to try it on SL.
I think a lot of musicians would have doubts doing things like this,
scared for the reactions maybe ? or to loose fans ? or to go flat on their face
if the experiment fails ?

Fyrm doesn’t care.
So my dear friend, keep on exploring and experimenting and do it on SL.

Roni and me stayed at Cascadia,
a singer i havent heared before played after Fyrm and we wanted to hear her.

Shannon Oherlihy ( RL : Shannon McMahon )

shannon

I was impressed, basically she plays contemporary folk
The voice is beautifull, music is good and i drifted away on it.
So lets hear this talent, and fill up that friendslist of her
147 friends is not enough ~smile~

I tried to google some more info but couldnt find mutch.
Based in Connecticut, i hope she plays RL as well.
Most of her music are orginals but she slips in a cover here and there.
definitely an artist that can see me more often.
Beautifull songs to listen too, to sit down and let your mind wander off.

After this trip we got treated with superb guitar by Al Hoffman.

I googled Al for more info.
first hit i got was a dragcar racer who died in March this year,
don’t think that is the right one…

ahhhhhhh Willy Sparrow is his real name

http://www.willysparrow.com/

al

Born in Argentina, moved to Holland ( cool we get all the great musicians overhere )
and playing fusion-modern jazz
He plays guitar with a midi device, a real one man band.
The technics are not that interesting for me,
allthough i like to know how the hell he does it ?

But the music is what counts.
Al sure has managed to come up with a good mix
think of the best of Holdsworth-Scofield a touch of Fripp hear and there
and some Gamalon but its not really fair to compare.

He sure knows his way around the fretboard.
He did played a few covers, but totally turned them upside down.
What a guy !!!

/me is a fan

We had fun with Al, someone ( forgot who it was ) made some signs and handed
them to all of us.

goal

Then we went to the Master of Melody, Djai Skjellerup
Every time i am suprised by the talent of this man.
Very good orginal songs, perfect piano playing and a voice that stands like a rock

Make Me Feel I Belong is my favourite tune, guess its everyone’s ~smile~
this guy should tour bigtime, playing the big arena’s and hear 50.000 people singing it

/me sings and dances Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo

Play me a Gentle song Djai…

Offcourse he played longer, you have to force him offstage, grab the stream back
otherwise he keeps on playing ~laughs~

Last stop was Zak Claxton.
First time i heared this guy and it sure aint going to be the last one.
Great Orginal tunes my friend.

Catchy melodies, good lyrics and your feet start moving right away

if possible i am getting that upcoming album.
I like that pop-rockisch style.

zak

During his shows he shows his life time experience.
So relaxed on stage, talking and having fun.
playing some kick-ass tunes.
Even his wife is in the studio and get to say a few things.
They make you feel right at home.

Its not a concert, its more like that Zak met you on the streets and decided to play
you a few songs, the feeling you get when you are on a beach and some guy sits down
with his friends having fun and they ask you to sit down with them.

“grab a cold beer dude, what song can i play for you ?”

Good job Zak, damn good job.
Too bad i crashed at the end and couldnt make it back ~pouts~
